In 2008 Smart Holding started the formation of a sub-holding in the area of non-metal mineral materials extracting – Smart-Nerudprom.
The objective of Smart-Nerudprom is to manage shareholdings in such companies as:
- Balaklava Mine with total mineral reserves about 85 million ton;
- Eupatoria Construction Materials Plant, with total mineral reserves about 56 million ton;
- Saki Construction Materials Plant, with about 19 million ton in reserves;
- Zaporozhnerudprom (granite pit), with about 183 million ton in mineral reserves;
- Turstroy company (which has licenses to exploit several mineral fields), which holds licenses to exploit the following four mineral fields: Mikhailovsk granite field – about 152 million ton in reserves; Skelevatsk granite field – about 42 million ton in reserves; Nadezhdinsk granite field – about 125 million ton in reserves; Chervonodneprovsk sand field – about 44 million ton.
The total mineral reserves of this sub-holding amount to about 779 million ton, among which there are about 160 million ton of limestone, 575 million ton of granite and 44 million ton of sand.
The main products of the sub-holding are as follows:
- limestone for metallurgical industry;
- limestone for lime production;
- limestone and granite crushed stone for industry construction.
In addition to the above-mentioned products, the enterprises of the sub-holding produce construction stone, limestone, concrete and limestone mass.
