As the development of the transit potential became one of the most important directions for the economic development in Ukraine, the holding is active in restoring the operation of the Black Sea ports, which are to become important gates in transport links between Ukraine and Europe.
In 2007 Smart Holding launched a new investment project - construction of a deep-water sea transferring complex close to the Dniepr river mouth. Ochakov Port company was established for the implementation of this project.
This investment project will increase the trade potential of Ukraine and contribute to the process of its integration to the world business community.
Ochakov Port
As a project investor, Smart Holding plans to construct several the following cargo transit facilities:
- a terminal for iron ore (15 million tons per year) and coal transit (5 million tons per year),
- a terminal for dry cargo (with capacity of 5 million tons per year),
- a container terminal (3 million TEU per year).
The total amount of investments to be attracted for this project is estimated at EUR 1,55 billion.
