Smart-Holding Makes an Announcement on Situation Around Amstor Supermarkets

‘Dear employees of Amstor retail chain,

Smart-Holding, the owner of Amstor Group, continues to resume operations of its retail centres in Zaporozhye and throughout Ukraine. At the moment, the leaseholders of sales premises have full access to their outlets and are welcoming customers. However, counteractions of the retailer’s ex-manager Vladimir Vagorovskiy still hinder full restoration of the stores’ operations. Although the armed men acting on his orders have left the supermarkets, they had fully destroyed the IT infrastructure in a number of stores. Hard drives are missing from the cash registers, servers with databases, HR records and accounting documents had disappeared to an unknown destination. You are still receiving unlawful instructions to stay away from you workplaces.

Efficient recovery of all our retail operations depends on your active participation and support. We thank everyone who comes back to work and helps us do everything to welcome back our customers as soon as possible. We are working to restore the lists of employees and resume regular payments of wages.

Please be advised that absence from work without a valid excuse is a violation of the labour legislation.’

Why Cyprus' EU presidency is important for Ukraine's future
Andreas Sophocleus, trust manager of Smart Holding and founder of the Kepaky charitable foundation, emphasizes that investors are ready to work in Ukraine, invest and create jobs even during the war. But they need something that no company can provide on its own — political and regulatory stability. And this must be implemented already, and not wait for better times.

The State Budget of Ukraine Received 41% Less Taxes from Smart Holding in the First 9 Months of 2025
As of January–September 2025, the Group’s companies paid 543 million UAH in taxes, which is 41% less than in the same period last year (915 million UAH). This reduction occurred, among other reasons, due to increased government pressure and the blocking of gas production assets of the publicly listed British company Enwell Energy.

Ukraine imports gas, while blocking its own fields
Ukraine has gas, but cannot produce it. Not because of the war. Not because of missiles. Due to the decisions of state bodies.
