UAH 8.8 million in taxes and UAH 14 million for humanitarian projects is Smart Maritime Group's contribution to the economic support of our country in 2023. And all this despite the constant massive shelling by the Russian occupiers, which made shipbuilding at the company's shipyards impossible.
Before the full-scale war, SMG shipyards produced a third of all Ukrainian ships. After February 24, 2022, all plans for the development of Ukrainian shipbuilding were postponed, and Smart Maritime Group focused on maintaining production capacities and providing humanitarian assistance to the front-line region. About production and taxes Due to daily enemy shelling, the Kherson shipyard has been stopped and temporarily out of operation.
At its other shipyard in a relatively safer region, Smart Maritime Group, having weighed all the risks, resumed repairs of civilian ships. In 2023, the company's specialists fulfilled six such contracts. Six more contracts have been signed for the future. There is no talk of building new ships yet – until the Victory of Ukraine and guaranteed security on land and at sea. A separate production specialization of SMG is the manufacture of bridge metal structures. During the year, the company fulfilled four important orders for the restoration of bridges destroyed during the war. In total, this allowed paying 8.8 million UAH in taxes and fees to the budgets of various levels based on the results of work in 2023.
On the restoration of power supply for front-line Kherson Last year, the occupiers damaged one of the most powerful substations in Kherson three times. And each time Smart Maritime Group restored it. In 2023, the substation was damaged in June by a flood after the Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam and twice more – due to massive enemy shelling in December.
After the shelling on December 29, 2023, SMG specialists worked for three weeks to restore power supply to consumers powered by this substation as soon as possible. The company allocated more than UAH 9 million to restore the substation after enemy damage. The Kherson shipyard is currently de-energized and does not perform operational activities, so SMG power engineers worked precisely to restore power supply to the homes of citizens. About helping Kherson residents Residents and infrastructure of the Kherson region continue to be victims of Russian terrorist tactics. Therefore, Smart Maritime Group focused on supporting local residents in this region. After Russia's war crime - the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam - rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine promptly received from Smart Holding shipbuilders equipment urgently needed to save people from high water.
SMG allocated more than UAH 1.8 million for their purchase. The company continues to systematically help Kherson residents with food and water. 16,000 full daily rations worth about UAH 5 million have already been received by residents of the frontline region and rescuers of the State Emergency Service. This is one of the company's systemic humanitarian projects. Smart Maritime Group helps restore homes damaged by shelling. At the request of the administration of the Korabelny district of Kherson, which is perhaps the most affected in the city by the attacks of the occupiers, the company financed the purchase of building materials and helped protect the destroyed roofs and windows in the apartments of Kherson residents and administrative buildings of the city.
"Smart Maritime Group is a caring, responsible business. Our taxes are a strengthening of the economy. Work and timely wages are support for employees and their families. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, despite the shipyard's suspension, we have continued to pay our employees wages. Our humanitarian programs are a helping hand to people who find it difficult to cope on their own. In 2023, Smart Maritime Group allocated more than UAH 14 million to humanitarian projects in Kherson. As a conscious business, we continue to act and, despite the uncertainty, create the basis for the restoration of full-fledged work and development of Ukrainian shipbuilding,” said Dmytro Krasnikov, CEO of Smart Maritime Group.

The State Budget of Ukraine Received 41% Less Taxes from Smart Holding in the First 9 Months of 2025
As of January–September 2025, the Group’s companies paid 543 million UAH in taxes, which is 41% less than in the same period last year (915 million UAH). This reduction occurred, among other reasons, due to increased government pressure and the blocking of gas production assets of the publicly listed British company Enwell Energy.
