For H1, 2021, the companies of Smart Energy Group paid in total UAH 744.5 mln in taxes, including UAH 354.4 mln fee for subsoil use to the budgets of all levels. Thus, UAH 17.7 mln of subsoil tax were paid to the local budgets.

Therefore, the companies paid UAH 8.6 mln to Poltava budgets and UAH 9.1 mln to Kharkiv budgets.

In general, the tax payments by the companies of Smart Energy Group increased by 43.3% y-o-y. Income tax, VAT and subsoil tax demonstrated the biggest increase. In its turn, it was caused with the growth of gas price in 1H, 2021, against the same period of 2020.

“For the recent months the price for our product has significantly increased. That influenced positively the volume of tax payments by our companies to the state and local budgets. Moreover, the dynamics is supported with stability of hydrocarbons production volumes that companies of Smart Energy Group succeed to maintain at their fields,” Oleksiy Zayets, FCO of Smart Energy Group, commented.

For the reported period the companies of Smart Energy Group allocated complementarily UAH 2.3 mln for the needs of the communities on the territories of which they operate. In particular, Arkona Gas-Energy paid UAH 776 thousand to Poltava oblast budget within the bilateral agreement; the Representative Office of Regal Petroleum Corporation Limited allocated UAH 254 thousand; while Kharkiv companies Ukrgazvydobutok and Prom-Energo Produkt transferred UAH 963 thousand and UAH 273 thousand respectively.

This money was used for co-funding the projects such as purchase of school bus for Novа Vodolaha community (Kharkiv oblast), support of football team in Yakhnyky village (Poltava oblast), purchase of hiking outfit for rafting within the civil defence programme for kids and youth (Kharkiv oblast), mounting Hryhorii Skovoroda, a Ukrainian poet and philosopher, monument, devoted to his 300-Years Anniversary.

The main criteria of selection of projects for the participation of Smart Energy Group are their current importance and the benefit for as many people as possible. Thus, the key directions for support of communities are still sport, education, health and cultural heritage.
