In conditions when the enemy is purposefully destroying the energy infrastructure, Ukraine is forced to purchase gas at a price of $500/thousand m³ instead of its own, which costs $375/thousand m³
Despite the obvious need to increase its own production, part of Ukrainian gas fields is currently stopped.
Result:
▪ More than 195 million m³ of gas in the Kharkiv region and more than 1.6 billion UAH of tax revenues in 2024 have been lost; ▪ Another 78 million m³ of gas and about 1 billion UAH of taxes in 2025 are at risk;
▪ Reduction of drilling programs, investments and jobs. Every million m³ of gas produced in Ukraine is a replacement for expensive imports, a reduction in the burden on the budget, guarantees of stability for industry and warmth in the homes of Ukrainians.
More details about the challenges and risks for Ukraine's energy independence can be found in the Forbes article with the participation of Smart-Holding CEO Ivan Gerasymovich.

The State Budget of Ukraine Received 41% Less Taxes from Smart Holding in the First 9 Months of 2025
As of January–September 2025, the Group’s companies paid 543 million UAH in taxes, which is 41% less than in the same period last year (915 million UAH). This reduction occurred, among other reasons, due to increased government pressure and the blocking of gas production assets of the publicly listed British company Enwell Energy.
